Week 5 - Names, Designs and Driving

This week we voted on the design and team name...

 

After a close competition we are now called Pinamite!

After a vote on all the different design ideas and, to keep with the theme of Disaster Area, we will using a design of an exploding raspberry.

Charlotte - Today we voted for the design and name for our robot, then we got split into 2 groups, one designing and working on the robot, the other practiced driving the robot around the room.

Marlo - first, were voted on the team name and robot design, and then we split into groups: improving the design and driving. :) ^_^

Molly - We voted on the design name and look: Pinamite and the split up into two groups, designers and drivers..

Week 4 - Designs and Building robots....

This week....

Charlotte - Today, we re assembled the robot and began to try to drive it.

Marcus - Today, we disassembled the robot and then put it back together again and also started learning how to drive it.

Molly - We built a robot using instructions and also got to control it with a controller thingy! My group made an obstacle course for it to drive through using pens and chairs and foam swords and axes.

Week 3 - More python and adding keyboards.

Today we....

Tianyou  - today we messed around with some code, explaining what all of the bits meant and what the program did.

Ruben - We also ran a program to list the devices.

Week 2 - Investigating python

We once again worked on getting motors moving using python. Some worked some didn't.

A New Year and a New Club - Week 1

Last week we had the first meeting of this years Robotics Club.

What did we get up to?

Tom

Today we all made motors and wrote the code for them. We used Raspberry Pi’s and python.

Molly 

Today we used wires, a raspberry pi and motor to make the motor move through python coding script. We also got a bit of an explanation on the competition.

Beccy 

Today we were making a motor spin, using a raspberry pi and wires and powering it with a algorithm in a computer language called python. We also talked a bit about the competition and the theme ( disaster zone ), we also talked a tiny bit about what our robot would look like.

Further practice and the design is nearly finished.
